Victor Marx was born on July 5, 1965, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Karl Marx, who later founded the Keichu-Do martial arts system, and a mother who was married multiple times over the course of his childhood.

Marx served three years in the United States Marine Corps following the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing.
