Early Life
Kate Henshaw was born on July 19, 1971, in Cross River State, Nigeria, the oldest of four children.
She began her early education at St. Mary Private School in Ajele, Lagos State, before attending the Federal Government Girls College in Calabar for her secondary schooling.
Education
After secondary school, Henshaw completed a one-year remedial studies programme at the University of Calabar before transferring to the School of Medical Laboratory Science at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where she majored in Medical Microbiology.
She subsequently worked at the Bauchi State General Hospital before transitioning fully into acting.
Career
Henshaw worked as a model early in her career, appearing in print and television advertisements, including a campaign for Shield deodorant.
In 1993, she auditioned for and won the lead role in the film “When the Sun Sets,” marking her debut in a major Nollywood production.
She went on to appear in more than 100 films over a career spanning over three decades, including “Silent Night,” “Domitila,” “Games Men Play,” “Sleeping with the Enemy,” “The Search,” “Stronger Than Pain,” “Girls in the Hood,” “To Love and to Hold,” “Eti Keta,” “The Meeting” (2012, as Mrs. Ikomi), “Roti,” “4th Republic,” and “The Ghost and the House of Truth,” among many others.
